Relationship Manager

American Credit Acceptance

This is a Contract position in Los Angeles, CA posted May 12, 2022.

Overview: The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial relationships who require asset-based lending facilities and other services to meet their needs.

RMs develop credibility and demonstrate the ability to dialogue with a variety of client contacts including business owners, CFOs, Controllers and other client contacts regarding topics such as the auto finance industry, capital structures, and general business issues.

RMs understand their client’s business fully, serve as an advocate for the relationship within Spartan and act as a trusted advisor for their relationships.

RMs develop the overall relationship strategy through a thorough analysis of risks, opportunities and impacts to Spartan, and is responsible for leading and coordinating client team members in the execution of loan renewals, increases or modifications.

Essential FunctionsManage and retain profitable client relationships Recommend structure, terms and rate changes for loans being underwritten Complete client collateral performance and financial analysis on a monthly basis to ensure collateral and financial covenant complianceParticipate in due diligence meetings with credit underwriting team and assist with loan file review, management interviews and discussion, compliance analysis and financial performance reviewPartner cross-functionally with other teams and departments to ensure client needs are being professionally and efficiently handled Maintain and present a professional image both via telephone and in person.Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications3 years of relationship management, sales or financial services experience4-year college degreePrior commercial lending or portfolio management a plusMust have the ability to handle multiple tasks at once and possess strong customer interaction skillsMust have the ability to solve problems, digest and apply information, learn new skills, and think criticallyHighly proficient computer skills; specifically, in Microsoft applications.Excellent written and spoken communication skills as well as presentation skillsAble to work in fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environmentExcellent time management skills, highly energetic, and self-motivated Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday with some weekend work required.

TravelThis position requires travel throughout assigned territory.

Gathers and analyzes all information and documentation necessary to underwrite a lending request; meeting with existing or potential clients either by phone or onsite; negotiate loan terms and conditions;Owns the lending relationship as Spartan’s primary point of contact with an assigned portfolio of Line of Credit clients, serving as liaison between audit, loan operations, portfolio reporting, and the client as well as coordinating any lending requests and changes with credit function and the clientWorks in collaboration with credit analysts to produce written credit approval memos that meet defined credit criteria and present recommended credit actions to credit committee to obtain credit approvalReviews and analyzes client collateral performance to determine collateral and financial trends that could adversely affect both client and ACACoordinate with reporting analysts and clients to ensure timely settlements Ensure all funding agreement requirements are performed by clientsProcess, solve and answers complex client transactions, problems or inquiries within an assigned portfolioInterface with other parts of the Spartan and ACA’s business, such as Portfolio Reporting and Analysis, Funding, Bulk Acquisitions, Compliance, Legal as well as other departments such as Finance, Risk and Internal Audit.
