The manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that align with local customer and business needs to ultimately enhance the ABB brand in the region and grow sales.

These programs should align with the global business strategy, key strategic initiatives and market positioning.

The manager also helps regionalize and tailor global content and messages to ensure local customer pain points are addressed and understood by multiple stakeholders.

This position works closely with the Hub management team, especially the industry leads (pulp & paper, mining and growth industries) to identify growth opportunities and integrate them into the marketing communications strategy.

This position reports toGlobal Division Communications ManagerYour responsibilitiesStrategy, planning and implementation: Develops and implements an innovative integrated marketing communications strategy for the Hub in line with the Global Division and Global Product Group Marketing Communications plans, to educate and inform key stakeholders including customers, employees, trade media and others.

Support executive leadership in positioning ABB as an industry leader in the region.

Communications plan: Develop marketing communications strategies by industry group that connect with local customer and economic needs; analyze competitive landscapes; and align with business and growth initiatives.Customer focus: Work directly with the Hub Management team to identify local market needs and growth opportunities in order to drive more leads for the businessGlobal collaboration: Translating global strategies and messages into action plans for the region, including local countries that are included in the region.

Provide leadership and guidance to local marcom resources to drive greater brand alignment and activityHands on execution: Execute marketing communications campaigns across all identified marketing tactics and tools, including writing and publishing of articles.

Use these tools to generate leads and gain market insights required to identify growth opportunities, feed this information back to sales.

Analyze and report campaign results / metrics and communicate with stakeholders.

Digital marketing and lead generation: Drive the roll out of digital marketing across NAM (North America) Hub.

This includes, but not limited to marketing automation, SEO (Search Engine Optimization”‹)/SEM (Search Engine Marketing”‹), social media, ABM (Activity Based Management), website, paid/owned/earned channels, email marketing and webinars, to drive customer demand and lead generation.

Partner with the sales teams in the Hub to agree on joint lead generation KPIs (Key Performance Indicators”‹) and establish a process where leads are followed through the sales pipeline.

Use the martech stack to drive better customer insights and digital strategies.

Communicate insights with the broader Hub team.Internal communications: Cascades global messages to the Hub and supports smaller units.

Supports the development of local internal communications campaigns, including town halls and employee engagement programs.

Establish strong relationship with local country teams in Hub including functional (HSE, HR), industry leads (pulp & paper, mining, growth) and service to ensure message consistency and knowledge of offering.

Lead internal collaboration across the Hub businesses and sales channels to tell the entire ABB story for process industries, share marketing tools and strategies.

Supports key management with communications materials, including presentations, speeches, articles and employee programs.

Provide Hub representation on global Process Industries Yammer channelDeliver HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) campaigns including safety awareness and quarterly newsletters.

Create a collaborative team environment within Hub in which communicators actively participate and take ownership.

Virtual events / In person events: Plan, coordinate and execute event strategy for local process industries.

Integrate global message and brand into the respective format.

Identify events for new markets and build business cases for attendance and involvement where needed.

Take leadership role in working across internal division to ensure comprehensive story and approach.Editorial/Media relations: Supports global leverage of locally produced content (including PR, web stories) and best practices as well as ensures local cascade of global produced contentIdentify and highlight key wins, successes, case studies and technology applications in region.

Create stories around these compelling topics in an effort to support and drive market leadership (Channels include: Trade publications, local media, business media, social media)Collateral/Content creation: Localize and integrate engaging messaging, value propositions and content around industry pain points.

Monitor key customer issues and emerging market trends in the region and create new messaging and content where neededLocalize globally developed tools including possible language translation.

Integrate key regional messages into business content.

Manage and write the Connected Engineer newsletter, together with the service team.

Take initiative in working directly with sales to identify content gaps and white spaces for developing strategic material that can drive orders in the region, while also being reused globally.Budget: Owns budget for marketing communications programs and ensures budget alignment with quarterly cost tracking.

Selects suppliers in compliance with business supply chain rules and ensures economy of scale.

Uses agreed metrics to show value creation and measure success.Your backgroundBachelors degree, preferably in Marketing, Communication or related field, and minimum 10 years of marketing experience in a B2B environment (prefer technical/ industrial environment) requiredOpen to travel about 20%.Preferred Qualification: Strong writing, editing, proofreading capabilities; Strong background in strategic marketing or business development field to translate local market needs into actionable plans.Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several large projects at any given time.Proficient with software used by marketing communications professionals such as Adobe suite, Photoshop, InDesign, CMS (content management systems such as Sitefinity/Adobe).

Familiarity with SalesForce and marketing automation tools.Leadership and/or management experience working in a matrix organization.
