Job Description:
Provides Human Resource counsel to management of assigned area, ensuring compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and governmental regulations.
Implements corporate programs, and identifies and implements programs to address regional issues.

Major Responsibilities
Provides coaching and counseling to management on human resource issues, recommending solutions consistent with past practices and Company policies.
Addresses employee concerns.
Conducts investigations of complaints/charges, prepares documentation for review by Corporate Human Resources and represents Company in resolution process.
Assists in execution of labor relations by supporting plant management with contract administration, grievance resolution, and contract negotiations and/or intervention techniques to maintain union-free status.
Manage the human capital issues surrounding new business acquisitions and business divestitures.
Communicates, implements and interprets company policies and procedures as well as benefit and compensation policy.
Design, implement and conduct training and education sessions as required by the business needs and/or company.
Provides input to Corporate Human Resources on HR strategy.Facilitates implementation of programs and practices to meet regional or organizational needs.
In partnership with the Training and Development department assist in the management of the talent review and succession planning process for the business units.
Assists business units with recruiting, selection, hiring and orientation of new hires that support the business strategy within the scope of state and federal employment laws.
Conducts plant audits to ensure compliance with programs and policies.
Coordinates and facilitates activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions.
Develops and tracks project schedules.
May oversee Safety Programs, maintaining compliance with OSHA standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years human resources generalist experience
2+ years manufacturing experience
2+ years’ experience in union environment with responsibility to administer labor agreement(s); prior participation in labor negotiations and grievance & arbitration processes preferred
2+ years human resource experience in California
Prior multi-site responsibility preferred
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Knowledge and Skills :
Must be able to handle multiple projects in a dynamic fast paced team environment
Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively with peers, management, and third parties
Self motivated and directed
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent oral, written, listening, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Extensive knowledge of laws governing human resources issues.
Must be well organized and able to handle multiple projects.
Basic computer software and HRIS skills.
Extensive knowledge of laws governing wage and employment laws in state of California
Ability to interpret and administer union contract provisions
25% travel required.
