Regional Director of Engineering

Job Summary: The Regional Director Engineering is responsible to oversee the Maintenance operations of a portfolio of hotels including programs for the operations and maintenance of all equipment physical structures and landscaping.

Maintain compliance with corporate franchise and ownership standards as well as local state and national codes/regulations to protect the assets guests and associates.

To ensure optimum operations minimum expense and maximum customer satisfaction for all properties by working in conjunction with each property’s Engineering Department manager and the hotel General Manager.

Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.

Position is responsible for guiding the maintenance department of each hotel by providing education consultation and organization via property visits scheduled webinars and communication via email phone and organized monthly conference calls.

This individual will be responsible to supervise and guide 25-30 Directors of Engineering remotely and through property visits; extensive travel will be required.

Exempt managers must customarily and regular direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents.

Primary duties must consist of administrative executive or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.

(This position will be based in Dallas / Fort Worth Market) Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS:More than two years of post high school education but less than a degree from a four-year college or equivalent field experience.Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organizations(s).Requires advanced knowledge of Building Management/Engineering.

May require considerable working knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skill to integrate and communicate that information.Requires analyzing activities and /or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.

Requires management skills.

Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure that each property develops implements and manages a preventative maintenance program including assessing the accuracy of inventory and repair records of major mechanical equipment.

Assist negotiate and review maintenance contracts for each hotel.Assist develop and execute the capital budget plan for each hotel in accordance with the standards of the brand ownership and Interstate including involvement in the bidding process vendor selection and submission of complete and accurate paperwork.Ensure that each property develops and implements all Emergency Programs ensuring drills are completed ensure compliance with all codes and regulations ensure training and development of all employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the assets guests and employees.Train new engineers on company standards conduct ongoing training of maintenance staff within the portfolio assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and direct engineers in appropriate actions to rectify.Oversee development implementation and management of energy conservation programs for each property to minimize expenses.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Participate on committees as requested.
