Quality Assurance Manager

Our client is a major name in the manufacturing and distribution of sensor and wireless technology for the Aerospace field, often servicing both military and commercial aircraft. We are searching for a top-tier Quality Assurance Manager to join our client’s main operation in the city of Chatsworth CA.

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all quality operations, either directly or through your team, for the purpose of establishing and meeting all production, quality, cost and safety objectives.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establishing, Monitoring and maintaining the company quality management system; which include the administration of manuals, procedures, work instructions and other related system documentations
  • Administering FAA Compliance under CFR Part 21, including PMA, 8130-3 tag compliance and training of personnel in FAA requirements
  • Providing work direction and technical assistance for the Quality and Managing Engineers, Technicians and Inspectors
  • Interacting regularly with the Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and other Operations departments to establish quality standards
  • Reporting requirements for Raw Materials, WIPs, Outside Processing, Finished products and Warranty Returns
  • Responsible for building your own team, and ensuring that team meets all company policies and applicable laws. This includes, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding or disciplining employees and addressing and resolving problems
  • Supporting outside audits performed by customers and regulatory bodies to industry standards including AS9100 CS, UL, ATEX and others.
  • Other duties as needed

Job Requirements:

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4 pm. Pay is Open to negotiation based on experience and skill set. This position is listed as Temp To Hire, but if you do well, our client is willing to hire you permanently.

This is what we are looking for in candidates:

  • You have at least 6 or more years of related experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory type of role
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or something similar
  • You must be ITAR compliant
  • You have superior knowledge of all Quality Assurance Operations
  • You have thorough understanding of AS-9100, Rev D requirements and it’s application
  • You are experienced in developing and implementing internal audit processes
  • You know how to manage quality processes such as Material Review, Statistical Process Control, and utilizing tools such as RCCA, 8-D Fishbone and 5-Why analysis
  • Six Sigma Certification is preferred
  • You have great time management skills
  • As a condition of employment, you may be required to take and pass a background check and/or drug test.
