Barfresh Food Group, Inc. (BRFH) is an innovative start-up beverage company based in Los Angeles. They develop, manufacture, and distribute ready-to-blend and ready-to-drink beverages, including smoothies, shakes, and frappes, primarily for restaurant chains and the foodservice industry. The company’s proprietary, patented system uses portion-controlled pre-packaged beverage ingredients that deliver freshly made frozen beverages that are quick, cost-efficient, better for you, and without waste.
As part of our growth, we seek an experienced purchasing Manager to negotiate and build relationships with vendors. The position will report to the Operations Director and will be a key player that will make an immediate contribution. .
Responsibilities
Oversee the development of raw materials procurement and supply at Barfresh
Forecast materials demand, seek out new vendors, and actively seek out improved costing and production capacity.
Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best contract terms for the company
Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase
Manage inventory levels and make plans for buying within budget
Place orders, track the delivery, and manage vendor relationships.
Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) in Excel or ERP systems.
In collaboration with the supply chain team, proactively implement new processes, embrace change and strive to exceed goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Two+ years of experience in a buyer or procurement role
Strong negotiation skills a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinker who can anticipate needs
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PPT, and Excel
Schedule
In-house position based in Los Angeles
Exempt position; additional hours needed during peak times
Travel expected to co-pack sites (10-20%)
