This includes seeking, driving, and implementing continuous improvement in spend categories and purchasing behavior. Responsibilities Categorize and analyze enterprise spend using available reporting in SAP to identify cost saving opportunities Develop and execute comprehensive and strategic Request for Proposals (RFPs) in categories while prioritizing effort and dollar return Engage operations and regional personnel to understand requirements, frontline challenges and seek vendors that provide the best pricing, support, and technical solutions Identify and manage vendor risk with annual contracts where necessary Supervise buyer and purchasing data entry clerks Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strategic Sourcing Education BA/BS in Supply Chain Management / Business / Engineering or related field required, MBA Preferred Purchasing Certification (CPM) and or Negotiation Certificates Preferred Continuous Improvement/Lean knowledge or background preferred Requirements/Qualifications Experience buying index related commodities including energy and fuel Experience executing National Agreement and Contracts Comprehensive knowledge of ERP purchasing materials and supply chain functions. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to forge internal colleague and external supplier relationships Forward-thinking, with strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills and detail-orientation Can-do positive customer service attitude a must To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills, specifically SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Preferred: Professional certifications (APICS or ISM Certification) Advanced knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning or equivalent Multiple language knowledge is beneficial, not required Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
