Job Description

As a member of SKECHERS USA, Inc IT team, this person will be responsible for the ongoing management of payment processes related to Skechers Point of Sale system and Skechers eCommerce Platform and our chosen payment gateways, processors and banking relationships.

The Project Manager is an experienced technical leader who is a self-starter, demonstrates success dealing with ambiguity, operates in a high-growth environment, and solves complicated problems with limited oversight.

This highly visible role manages payment systems and processes for Skechers Retail and Skechers Digital.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with internal and customer executives on a regular basis, display superior communication skills, and have a knack for understanding complex technical requirements.

This Project Manager – Payments will act as a partner to develop both the long-term vision and strategy by providing technical leadership across multiple channels and across all geographic markets and manage day-to-day relationships, both internal and external.
Provide ongoing technical consultation to align payment infrastructure for Skechers, including interfaces to third-party payment gateways and core processing platforms; educate internal clients on products and services that can enhance their payment management operations Provide technical payment thought leadership including optimization of approval rates, acceptance expense, shopper-to-buyer conversion, and interchange qualification; monitor merchant processing activity to ensure optimal performance Provide expertise on our global payment solutions, including global merchant acquiring (eCommerce), payment gateway, fraud management, and security services and advise on key features and functionality that empower clients to optimize and execute their business strategies Serve as the business client advocate within Skechers Retail, Digital and Finance teams and manage solution delivery efforts to meet their evolving needs through collaboration with internal, cross-functional teams as well as with external partners.

Translate scheme mandates, spec changes and the like into customized, actionable project plans; project manage recertification work between Skechers and third parties.

Act as voice of the customer to elevate merchant technical & product needs to third parties; act as Skechers chief technical advocate with third parties Understand the business objectives of Skechers and assist the business clients in aligning with available technologies Become an expert in all Skechers supported payment products and services across Retail and eCommerce channels and all geographic markets
Job Requirements

7+ years eComm payments and merchant acquiring experience with a minimum of 3 years managing global accounts in the merchant payments industry from a technical perspective Ability to explain complex technical concepts to audiences at all levels of technical understanding Experience driving complex strategy and relationships at multiple levels Ability to build relationships with strategic client and industry thought leaders Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and build great relationships with highly technical customers Accustomed to driving strategic technical dialogue with C-level and senior executives Polished presentation and persuasion skills Significant experience working with clients who have complex, multinational operations and aggressive growth plans Detailed understanding of the “order to cash” business processes and how payment management services intersect with those processes Deep knowledge and understanding of the entire eCommerce and alternative payments ecosystem and complete transaction lifecycle across authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, funding, reconciliation, chargeback and representment states Experience working within the software development frameworks (such as Agile or Scrum) typically utilized by large organizations Mastery of technical concepts within the payments domain; experience with the programming languages, web application stacks, hosting platforms, and deployment environments commonly used in the payments domain Strong customer relationship management experience within enterprise B2B and B2C client segments Success working in fast-paced environments leveraging modern account management tools and methodologies Deep knowledge and understanding of the entire Retail and eCommerce payments ecosystem Excellent verbal & written communication skills; fluency in English; strong interpersonal skills & industry presence/gravitas Excellent commercial, negotiation, and presentation skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
