Project Coordinator

OVERVIEW:

Canopy Team is a newly launched multi-disciplinary practice at the intersection of sports, design, and project management. We create memorable places that transcend sports to build community while bringing our event operations and strategy expertise to our clients’ events and experiences. We are a well-funded, early-stage company with a strong growth trajectory. We work with organizations, primarily in the sports & entertainment industry, to design and build their venues for training, fans, competition, and year-round activation. We oversee all aspects of the built environment starting with the vision, design, and construction all the way through Opening Day and operations. 

 

Our energetic, entrepreneurial team is seeking an organized, highly motivated individual to join our project team as a Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will provide wide-ranging support for select projects of various scales leading workflow to plan, budget and coordinate efforts with clients, architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants. The ideal candidate for this role will be a quick learner who demonstrates a vested interest in understanding the work across all key project stakeholders.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate multiple disciplines across the entitlement, design, and construction phases of projects
  • Serve as primary point of contact for owner, design team, city, and other project stakeholders
  • Maintain and drive confidential project budgets and schedules
  • Prepare and modify presentation documents including mockups, renderings, PowerPoint presentations, and plans related to design work and construction
  • Maintain knowledge of ballpark, stadium, venue, and other public gathering space trends and best practices while incorporating knowledge in carryout of all projects
  • Perform other tasks as needed
  • Non-traditional hours, including weekend work may be needed from time to time

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years professional experience; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experiences preferred.
  • Entry-level experience in architecture, construction, government relations, policy, development, project management, or related field
  • Interest in a career in architecture, design, development, or project management 
  • Proficiency in formatting documents and presentations
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Proficiency in reading and evaluating architectural drawings and other supporting project documents
  • Experience interacting with public agencies preferred (I.e. building departments, planning departments, fire departments, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Must be highly organized and possess comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to coordinate and support different clients and projects in the same time period
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment
  • Exceptional problem assessment and problem solving skills
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to travel to project sites and for occasional in person meetings colleagues and/or clients
  • Upon submission of an application, candidates may be required to share work samples or examples of technical capabilities
  • Ability to be physically present in Canopy Team’s Los Angeles, CA office weekly
