Program Manager, Strategic Projects-Venice

Responsibilities

VeniceFamily Clinic is a community health center whose mission is “To provide qualityprimary health care to people in need.” Venice Family Clinic cares for over28,000 low-income patients in over 120,000 visits annually who might otherwisego without critically needed health care services. Venice Family Clinic haseleven clinical sites with over 350 staff, 1,700 volunteers, and a budget of$50 million. We provide high quality, comprehensive primary and specialtyhealth care, dental, mental health, substance use treatment and childdevelopment services to underserved individuals and families on the Westside ofLos Angeles.

In this role, you will provideleadership and support in the development, implementation and maintenance ofspecial initiatives and projects at Venice Family Clinic. You will be responsible for managing the organization’s current priority and specialprojects, including construction or renovation projects, diabetes program, general medical program, andrelated projects to support effective operations, substantially transform thequality of care provided to our community and to achieve our strategic goals aslaid out in our strategic plan. 

As our Program Manager of SpecialProjects, you will also be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation andmaintenance of key projects, such as, construction or renovation projects, diabetes program, general medical program, and related projects at Venice Family Clinic tosubstantially transform the quality of care provided to our community.   You will develop and overseesactivities, serving as project manager and facilitator across the organization,working closely with internal and external stakeholders as relevant to theproject.    In addition, you will gather information andprepares reports to evaluate project and/or program effectiveness. You will report to the Director of Program Management and works with and underthe direction of the Deputy Director/Chief Operations Officer. You will be responsible for a portfolio of multiple, multi-faceted projects atany given time and may be responsible for the management of different projectsin the future, based on the needs of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy or related field OR the equivalent in a combination of education and experience
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Strong interest in Health Information Technology and the ability to master a practice management system, electronic health record, population management software, and other reporting systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people of various educational and socio-economic backgrounds and with clear and concise oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, clinic staff, patients and volunteers 
  • Ability to function efficiently and independently, and to plan and prioritize daily work activities to meet clinic goals and objectives 
  • Ability to travel between clinics and community organizations 
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with program or project management, especially related to healthcare, construction, and medical care program management preferred.
  • Previous experience in a community clinic setting is preferred
  • Experience managing healthcare and construction projects preferred.
