Under the general direction of the Division Deputy Executive Director and Division Directors, the Branch Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the work of the Branch in the policy areas such as, but not limited to, Distribution System Reliability and Planning, Electricity Rates, Customer Generation, Demand Response, CEQA permitting, and FERC Cost Recovery.
The Branch Manager is responsible for coordinating the work of the Branch, as well as representing the Division and the Commission in various settings including interagency meetings, inter-divisional meetings, legislative briefings, and technical conferences.
The Branch Manager directly supervises the work of the supervisors and their sections, coordinates the Branchs work with other Energy Division branches and other Commission divisions, as necessary, and actively participates as a member of Energy Divisions management team.
The Branch Managers primary responsibilities include providing leadership and technical input on Branch activities; working closely with Section supervisors to oversee Branch activities and staff, including staff assignments and general workload; work product review, including ensuring policy consistency and work product quality; staff development and appraisal, including training, hiring and promoting, employee reviews, and discipline; and general administrative duties for the Branch and Division.
