Product Manager, Market Data Platform

The Market Data platform group at Dow Jones delivers stock market investment content via APIs and Web Services for Dow Jones B2C and B2B brands.

This team is responsible for ingesting and normalizing data from global providers, tools that allow for the curation and management of data, and the delivery of production quality information to our brands in a way that is performant and scalable.

(br( (br(Market data is critical to our customers and recently received a large investment to fuel growth.

To help us achieve our Market Experience vision the product capabilities group is looking for a passionate Product Manager who will manage the technical roadmap and delivery backlogs to scale market data content and capabilities.

The Market Data Platform Product Manager will be the central point-of-contact for stakeholders from around the organization looking to build new market data content.

You will work with brand product managers to prioritize requests for new data to engage our audiences, translating business requirements into technical deliverables for the team.

You will work with partners that manage our licensing provider agreements, and use in-house tools to oversee the quality and generation of data.

Further, you will work closely with engineers to deliver to keep our infrastructure scalable for growth and up to the highest Dow Jones standards for delivery speed and security.

Excellent communication and the ability to manage competing priorities to strike the right balance of infrastructure vs innovation is critical.(br( (br(Responsibilities include:(br( (ul( (li(Working cross-functionally across all areas to define and prioritize business and editorial requirements for new products and enhancements.(/li( (li(Partnering with key stakeholders on the product roadmap.(/li( (li(Making product enhancement and optimization recommendations to increase revenue both from advertising and subscriptions.(/li( (li(Performing business analysis to demonstrate ROI and P&L impact of product enhancements.(/li( (li(Working with research teams to gather and analyze audience research and feedback regarding new products and enhancements.(/li( (li(Working closely with software developers and designers throughout the product lifecycle.(/li( (li(Defining and measuring KPIs for success.(/li( (li(Facilitate collaboration and support channels as the go-to for all things market data.(/li( (li(Manage a large backlog, negotiating and balancing the needs of many stakeholders as well as production support.(/li( (li(Create metrics to measure and celebrate how the team’s results are contributing to the bottom line and inform forward-looking roadmap strategies.(/li( (li(Works with delivery teams on project timelines, budgets, and communications.(/li( (/ul( (br(Requirements:(br( (ul( (li(Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers(/li( (li(Experience managing roadmaps and writing and delivering requirements and acceptance criteria for technical teams(/li( (li(Experience working with engineering teams that deliver platform solutions or server-side capabilities(/li( (li(Experience with or strong understanding of financial market data(/li( (li(Strong analytical skills including knowledge of Adobe Analytics platform and experience working with large data sets and query languages such as SQL(/li( (li(Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research.(/li( (li(Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented(/li( (li(Proficiency with Agile delivery processes and scrum methodologies(/li( (li(Minimum of 3-5 years of product management experience.(/li( (li(Proven ability partnering with a technology organization.(/li( (li(Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
