GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Product Manager will rely upon their marketing knowledge and experience to plan, develop and market new products that build significant competitive advantages.
This individual will be responsible for driving new product development projects in order to capture market share and grow sales.
This individual is relied upon as a market expert and must have a complete understanding of competitive positioning, product performance and price benchmarks.
This individual ensures that new product development efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Defines product strategy and creates overall roadmap; Identifies opportunities to strategically place products in the market that develop significant competitive advantage; Researches and defines customer needs; Becomes an expert with respect to the competition; Develops and recommends product line proposals; Manages activities of specialists in research, product development, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure product development priorities are met; Develops core positioning and messaging for products; Aids development of sales tools and collateral that improves sales force effectiveness; Creates and leads the execution of product launch plans; Briefs and trains the sales force at sales meetings; Proposes budget plans to ensure success; Conducts Annual Line Reviews.
