Job Description:
IBDs Product Team is looking for a Product Manager, Data.
Position Location:
Los Angeles, CA (preferably); with some flexibility to work remotely.
About the Role/Position:
This is a critical role to drive financial markets data migration, identify short term and long term strategy to best utilize markets data within products, and collaborate across numerous teams to either stand up new data warehouse/storage/feed or work with 3rd party to host and calculate data that is then passed into the IBD products.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Identify existing data sources used in IBD products and develop a migration plan that would extend full product operations post the migration.
The candidate should be the champion of a complicated data migration initiative, lead cross functional team in every aspect, from identifying scope to ensure a smooth migration.
Working with stakeholders to build out IBD proprietary ratings and ranking systems using the data.
Conduct market research to highlight and recommend data sources that would further enhance IBD products competitive advantages
Work with Engineers to establish an IBD data architecture and provide recommendation to the IBD Executive Team
Conduct financial analysis on data providers and provide necessary recommendations, and working with the team in sourcing data providers
Can translate requirements between engineers, designers, users and other PMs
Conduct analysis on data usage and providing key insights to stakeholders
Knowledge/Experience Preferred:
Bachelor degree in relevant fields
Experience with the financial market data (e.g., stock/options/crypto) is a plus
Strong technology background with a firm grasp on the interconnected relationship between product and engineering team
Understands the technological infrastructure involved in building products at a technical level
Understands the data schema, models, industry standard data protocols
Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams
Aptitude for understanding, digesting and analyzing complex systems integration.
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.
Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
