Process Engineering Manager


This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted June 7, 2021.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Process Engineering Manager is both a leader and technical contributor within a collaborative team, focusing on process development, integration and continuous improvement programs.

The position commissions and maintains process equipment and develops procedures required for the manufacturing of products created with Microfabrica?s unique MICA Freeform technology ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
· Manage technology development activities in Process Engineering team to develop new processes and products using additive manufacturing techniques
· Organize the activities of process engineers and scientists in photolithography, electroplating and planarization teams
· Guild and set direction for team?s activities to meet needs of departmental goals, development programs and facilitate production expansion
· Oversee the development progress in the fab from early stages to high volume production
· Lead the engineering team to pursue continuous improvement of key metrics
· Create and manage project schedules and deliverables
· Summarize data and create reports for review by team members and management
· Assess and identify risks and plan for contingencies
· Facilitate cross functional work collaboration between design, sustaining, production and quality control teams
· Closely collaborate with customers during weekly oral presentations and written progress reports EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Masters or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Material Engineering
· Five to seven years of related experience
· Demonstrated and respected ability to lead cross-functional development activities
· Carrier history including ownership of progressively large technical development activities
· Experience with operation of microfabrication manufacturing environment
· Independent, self-motivated, organized and skilled in communication, facilitation and collaboration REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Strong organization skills and able to drive projects effectively
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Attention to details
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Self-starter with innovative ideas.

· High level of integrity in working with sensitive information PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 7+ years of hands-on experience in microfabrication environment, developing MEMS or semiconductor devices
· 4+ years of experience in process engineering management role
· In depth knowledge of wafer fabrication processes and integration, including lithography, electroplating and/or planarization
· Proven track record of leadership in developing new processes and products in clean room environment
· Solid engineering, chemistry and materials science background
· Expert level knowledge and practical experience applying Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
