Principal Product Development Project Management Specialist

You will be a key contributor as a Principal Product Development Project Management Specialist on the DevOps team as we “shift left” and adopt IaC. You will lead cross functional teams to value stream map the existing pipeline to determine existing value, where there is waste and where the opportunities are. You will also lead requirements gathering, design and implementation of a new fully automated CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure for Medtronic Neuroscience products and technologies.

This position is in the Neuroscience portfolio group working on mobile and web applications serving deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation, pelvic health stimulation therapies and targeted drug delivery therapies.

A Day in the Life

The Principal Product Development Project Management Specialist role is a hands-on role, focused on leading the vision, development and implementation of a CI/CD pipeline that will accelerate Neuromodulation’s ability to innovate while finding defects early in the development process. You will lead a team consisting of DevOps Engineers supported by the highest level of leadership to do this highly visible and critical work.

You will:

  • Lead cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage internal new DevOps product development.
  • Monitor the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Work with software development, testing, quality and systems teams to surface requirements that will help improve our ability to deliver products faster to market.
  • Plan and deliver using Agile methodologies.
  • Represent Medtronic as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.
  • Contribute to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a technically related field required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading and managing CI/CD pipelines projects.
  • Experience with automation, build and configuration tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Ansible Tower, GitLab, SonarQube, Terraform.
  • Experience with containerization tools and infrastructure, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience guiding a software development or DevOps team.
  • Desire to work in a team-based collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage a complex portfolio of products and services.
  • Experience as a Scrum or Agile Product Owner.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
