RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure SOPs are maintained for all packing positions and employees are trained to comply with established SOPs.
Meet regularly with department supervisors to communicate needs, assist with issues, and provide direction.
Explore and make recommendations regarding mechanizing various packing operations.
Oversee employee training and ensure they are prepared to follow safety guidelines and hold them accountable.
Work with sales and growers to predict quantity and type of ordered mushrooms versus availability.
Observes and analyses packing department operations and procedures to develop and implement process improvements, and identify and eliminate wasteful or inefficient practices.
Coordinate repairs, modifications and PMs with maintenance as required to ensure optimum equipment utilization.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Required.
At least 1 year of experience in a management role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish / English preferred.
Above average time management skills.
Knowledge of the mushroom industry, OSHA regulations, and Food Safety standards.
Ability to plan and execute ideas in a timely manner.
Working knowledge of how to generate and analyze reports to identify problems and tends and make recommendations based on analysis.
Familiarity with Inventory systems such as SAP and Produce Pro.
