Operations Manager

Turtle & Hughes is seeking an Operations Manager in Los Angeles, CA who will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of a branch while evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures. Recommends changes when necessary and assists in the implementation of new processes. This individual will perform a variety of tasks while leading and directing the work flow of others. The Operations Manager reports to the SVP of Distribution Operations as well as the local Branch/Sales Manager.

Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following

  • Interview, hire, terminate, discipline and prepares annual reviews
  • Audit and standardize all system processes and procedures
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Fiscal accountability for Monthly/Year End Closings
  • Attends weekly Operations EOS Meetings
  • Meets KPI metrics provided by SVP of Distribution Operations
  • Reviews all daily branch activities
  • Training and development of branch personnel
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Trouble Shooting/Problem Solving
  • Streamlines administrative functions for Customer Service, Warehouse, Inventory Control and Sales
  • Manages Branch Claims
  • Manages Branch Financial reporting
  • Oversees branch personnel and payroll approvals

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelors Degree preferred
  • At least five years warehouse experience, must have warehouse and staff management experience
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and write legibly.
  • Ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to be flexible
