Operations Manager

Summary:

Manage the overall day to day operation to achieve annual strategic goals through the successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and all people related matters by enhancing the operational procedures, systems, and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, and management reporting. In addition, expand systems to create revenue generating projects and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws. This role reports to the VP of Operations of parent company or designate.

Core Roles & Responsibilities

Financial

• Oversee the annual budgeting and budget planning process of the organization to ensure relevant objectives are met.

• Conduct periodic assessments to evaluate the financial performance of the initiatives.

• Prepare and present short and long-term reports on financial and managerial operations.

• Oversee the reconciling of monthly company operations to generate annual reports.

• Conduct business forecast to identify recent developments to achieve short and long-term strategic goals as defined by parent company. • Establish contracts and pricing meet company gross margins.

• Identifying potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.

• Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.

Operational Strategy

• Develop and implement policies and procedures required for improved process and maximum output.

• Oversee the workflow, recruitment, and training of work personnel to ensure effective operations.

• Coordinate the activities of the departments to achieve timely and maximum client deliverables.

• Manage and monitor the operations of all support services.

• Liaise with top management executives to develop strategies for operational efficiency.

• Plan and support sales, marketing, and customer service activities.

• Contribute and recommend to corporate strategic action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.

• Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

• Work closely with management team to set and/or implement workflow improvements, policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.

• Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.

• Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues.

• Manage relationships with key operations vendors and third-party associates.

Talent Acquisition

• Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees

. • Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives

. • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions

. • Plan and enforce policies and procedures.

• Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all staff.

• Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment.

Customer Service

• Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related project issues that cannot be resolved by project teams

. • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.

• Partner with Corporate to communicate to staff customer service expectations and deliverables.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in program management, business, technical management, information systems, engineering, finance/accounting, or related fields.

• Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent overall project management experience

• A Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI required.

• Previous Experience may be considered equivalent if experience demonstrated increased depth and breadth of responsibility with successful track record.

• 8 – 10 years of experience in construction or related field. Familiar with a variety of the related concepts, practices, and procedures as it relates to the industry.

• Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Ability to perform a variety of tasks and to Lead and direct the work of others
