What you’ll do…
H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax services, is looking for high performing District General Managers in Training (DGMiT) to assist the District General Manager in the management and supervision of the district. The DGMiT and DGM are key members of the field leadership team responsible for leading a geographic district of H&R Block retail tax offices and growing their customer base.
The District General Manager in Training shares responsibility with the District General Manager to lead and manage a subset of offices within the district by establishing and maintaining strategic sales plans, prioritization and project management leading to operational excellence. In addition, the District General Manager in Training ensures that policies and procedures are implemented and followed in each office to increase revenues, control expenses, and promote client satisfaction through a consistent and positive experience. Additionally, the District General Manager in Training will share responsibility for accelerating business growth through implementation of business plan, marketing, and identification of growth opportunities and efficiently managing labor to ensure maximum productivity and profitability.
As a DGMiT, you will engage in training to ultimately oversee the operation of a given number of Tax Retail offices within a specified geographic area. These responsibilities will be in partnership with the District General Manager to recruit and onboard high caliber, top performing leadership for key district positions. In addition, you will support office leaders with hiring initiatives and end-to-end performance management of the office level associates. You will support office leaders by coaching and elevating performance standards of associates through goal setting and providing timely feedback. Lastly, driving revenue through sales, responsible for their own sales plan, making contact with client and community in the area. Organizing and executing on the marketing plan.
The DGMiT position will require you to potentially relocate two times to any location across the United States for the duration of the training program (approximately 12 months). If relocation is required, then relocation assistance will be provided consistent with H&R Block Company practices.
Pay and Benefits…
Pay range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 salary.

Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.
Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

What you’ll bring to the team…
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years retail or business experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisor role managing people.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills that apply to all levels of the organization.
- Strong customer relationship skills with the desire and proven ability to work in a diverse work setting.
- Effective management of field personnel to include a working knowledge of organizational planning techniques including the development of goals and objectives, staffing, and work standards.
- Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system.
- Willingness to work irregular schedules.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze data, plan, and coordinate multiple projects and work initiatives while meeting deadlines.
- Meet IRS e-file Suitability requirements as defined by the IRS Publication 3112.
