This vital role will be responsible for research activities in the Pharmacovigilance Epidemiology (PV EPI) group within the Data and Analytics Center (DAC).With a constantly increasing demand for information from regulatory and reimbursement agencies, Observational research (OR) has become a critical component in drug development and commercialization. Amgens Center for Observational Research (CfOR) partners with internal and external teams to generate real world evidence for multiple partners across the product lifecycle. The CfOR supplies evidence regarding the frequency and distribution of disease or the clinical burden of disease, the natural history or clinical course of disease, the design of clinical trials, cost and utilization patterns and the safety and efficiency of interventions.With the ongoing growth and planned expansion of Amgens CfOR, there is an opportunity for an Observational Research Manager (Epidemiology). The CfOR Manager is recognized as a strong scientific contributor and a first or contributing author for papers in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts for scientific congresses and internal reports that enhance the companys mission. Preferably, CfOR Managers will be located on the Amgen corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA, but remote working opportunities may also be available.Performing and handling descriptive epidemiologic studies to characterize the incidence/prevalence of disease in US, EU, Asia, and emerging market countries.Performing and running research projects involving the analysis of multiple types of data including medical claims, electronic health records and prospective observational cohort studies.Providing safety research across the life cycle of Amgen products including supporting the development of risk management plans and pharmacovigilance studies.Conducting literature reviews and preparing research reports and scientific manuscripts.Staying current on the latest developments in the field of observational research and drug development.Promoting awareness, understanding and use of observational research methods.Communicating significant scientific information to a variety of audiences.WinWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
