The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to provide a structured, achievement-based community that prepares students to graduate from four-year colleges and universities.
We currently serve over 1,800 students and operate four elementary schools and two middle schools in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Equitas Academy #2 was founded in 2013 and currently serves over 400 students in grades 5-8.
Role Summary:
To help us achieve our mission, we are seeking to identify a school leader for Equitas Academy #2.
We’re looking for a committed and accomplished school leader to work with our dedicated and capable staff to continue our work of preparing our scholars to graduate from college.
The ideal candidate should be committed to developing as an antiracist educator and leader, prioritize family, student and staff voice, model our core values, and build strong relationships while also achieving results.
We are also looking for a candidate who is ready to make transformational chance with the Pico Union community and the families, scholars and staff at Equitas Academy#2 for the long term.
Engage in observation and coaching of teachers to develop staff and drive student achievement Actively engage in feedback and coaching as a way to support learning and growth Seek ongoing opportunities to challenge oneself as a school director Deeply engage in all required professional learning Further learning by making committed action statements Explore each opportunity as one of learning, growth, and practiceLead the day-to-day operations of the middle school Administer, teach and lead professional development

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Deep, passionate, and action oriented belief in our mission to support all of our scholars to and through college Commitment to developing as an antiracist educator and leader Demonstrated success within a school context as a leader who prioritizes student and family voice Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with students and adults Capable of solving problems strategically while weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach with a network-wide lens Influence others to maintain a strong results orientation Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively Strong communication and collaboration skills Able to transition quickly from individual, detail oriented projects to collaborative, people-oriented conversations 3+ years experience as a teacher required 5+ years in a school leadership or principal role preferred
