If you are interested please apply online send your resume to (see below) POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Management Supervisor is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for excellence in the clinical operations and improvement of patient care within the emergency department.

Reporting to the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, QM Supervisor has the responsibility facilitating the analysis, evaluation, planning, and implementation of projects to support the strategic and operational needs of the emergency department.

The Quality Management Supervisor serves as an interdepartmental consultant providing leadership and coordination for improving the department core measures and key performance indicators, and evaluating the impact that system improvements have on quality of care within the department.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Community Hospital.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for identifying opportunities for operational improvement through observation, data analysis, or other means, and leading multidisciplinary teams through the appropriate Lean/Six Sigma processes to achieve improvements Independently leads, designs, manages, and executes performance improvement initiatives through all phases Responsible for scoping performance improvement initiatives, acquiring stakeholder buy-in and leadership support, and establishing metrics and milestones Creates and updates project plans, action items, and meeting minutes Utilizes expertise in improvement methodologies to appropriately identify the correct design and approach for initiatives Facilitates data collection, analysis, and assessment through both physical observations and system reporting Coordinates activities of performance improvement team members, supporting initiatives documents and presents findings to all levels of staff and leadership Performs independent complex data analysis to support leadership decision making.

Types of data analysis include but are not limited to: process measures and performance metrics, scheduling, labor and productivity, quality measures, patient satisfaction measures, and demographic analysis Develops project plans which identify key issues, problems, solution approaches, performance metrics and resources required.

Collaborates with individuals at all levels of the department on executing plans to improve key performance metrics in categories including, but not limited to: patient safety, quality & regulatory, throughput,cycle time, financial stewardship, patient experience, risk management, and employee engagement Maintains current knowledge of health care delivery trends and evidence-based solutions for improving the delivery of care and services.

Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships in dealing with peers, physicians, and other customers to promote an efficient teamwork and high quality patient care: interpersonal complaints are remedied in a mature fashion; works at establishing good rapport and professional working relationships with all department staff; maintains appropriate interdepartmental communications; able to identify interdepartmental problems and resolve them promptly at the assistant manager level.

Participates in hospital committees and unit specific multidisciplinary conferences, as well as unit staff meetings: distributes staff meeting minutes in a timely manner.

Implementation of unit specific Quality and Performance Improvement Plan, completes monitoring forms and reports findings to Manager/Director and Quality and Performance Improvement Committee.

Models leadership and promotes professionalism to assist staff in developing the following: priority setting; team work; flexibility; coordination of activities; organizational skills; delegation; and behaviors consistent with MLKCH Mission, Vision & Values.

Promotes staff compliance with hospital safety and emergency procedures on a daily basis.

Maintains intimate knowledge of Emergency Department policies and procedures and acts as a resource for the RN’s in the department.

Education Bachelor of Science degree in nursing required.B.

Qualifications/Experience Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Services with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year leadership or performance improvement experience.

Current California Nursing licenseC.

Special Skills/Knowledge Experience with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio Experience with Project Management Software preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must complete annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program/Certificate, per hospital policy, during initial training/orientation but not to exceed 30 days from hire/transfer.
