Overview:
On behalf of our leading academic university client, we are seeking an ‘Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications’ for a Temp to Hire opportunity.

The School of Architecture is seeking an Assistant Dean for Communications and Marketing.
The Assistant Dean will direct the public communications program for the school to include budget, development, administration and staff supervision.
This includes the design and production of comprehensive media elements through current best practices, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification to shape the school’s image and message to targeted audience.
He/she will oversee the generation of content, media and/or multimedia for all media outlets, and officially represent the school in all matters of communication.
Duties:
Develops and executes public communications goals and strategies for the school, and participates in long-range and short-term strategic planning, as assigned.
Designs and produces comprehensive media elements through current best practices, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience.
Directs the generation of content (to include original text, images, video, website and school publications) in all areas of media, including social media, to build meaningful connections and communicate the school goals and messages.
Manages content channels to ensure that all media/multimedia content is fresh, up-to-date, compelling, and accurately reflects the school priorities.
Oversees recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of necessary staff.
Directly or indirectly supervises all assigned staff.
Determines staffing needs based on school goals and objectives, including workforce planning and compensation recommendations.
Oversees performance evaluation process, ensuring consistent use of all applicable policies and procedures.
Counsels, disciplines and/or terminates employees, as required.
Determines or proposes and manages assigned budget(s).
Approves/ disapproves expenditures.
Interface with news outlets, social media, and community channels in all matters of communication to define the school message and vision.
Understands and ensures compliance with all current University policies, procedures and standards and with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Establishes and maintains appropriate network of professional contacts.
Maintains currency with professional organizations and publications.
Attends and participates in meetings, conferences, etc.
Represents school, as assigned or appropriate.
Manage all major events within the school Liaison between the school and Central Communications Collaborate successfully with all departments within the school
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (Business or related field preferred) Minimum of 5 years of experience within a large corporate environment Candidate must have experience directly managing a team of 3+ people Candidate must have experience writing press releases Ideal Candidate will have hands on experience with the following tools: Razor Edge, Canva, Sharepoint, Salesforce, and Razor Edge
