Responsible for meeting budget, quality, and production goals, setting standards, and making employment and staffing decisions. Interprets and develops manufacturing policies, procedures, and programs. Drive Takeda cultural elements such as: Safety culture, Quality culture, and PTRB mentality.This position reports to the Associate Director, Fractionation with dotted line reporting to the Associate Director – Teardown. The primary responsibility is to oversee Building 5 manufacturing during weekends. The role will require an on-site work schedule from Friday to Monday, encompassing both weekend swing and weekend night (example: 4AM – 4PM Sat/Sun; 7AM-4PM Monday & Friday).* Provide manufacturing leadership to address safety, quality, and throughput issues that arise during weekends.* Collaborate with functional peers to resolve issues in a timely manner to support weekly schedule adherence as well as site goals and to minimize production delays.* Is the primary manufacturing point of contact for all weekend escalations and for urgent problem solving / DMAICs.* Provides shop floor management presence and observations for critical manufacturing steps.* Evaluate and coordinate changes to the overall production schedule to minimize impact of issues that arise during weekends.* Promotes Takeda safety culture; Is the weekend manufacturing contact for safety incidents.* Provides project support and coordination for shutdown, startup, slowdowns.* Ensure consistency of AGILE operating systems on weekends.* Facilitate Weekend Tier 2 meetings, Perform Leader Process Confirmation on Tier 1 meetings, Support 5S and Standard Work improvements.* May lead or facilitate yellow belt and other problem-solving sessions.* Leads reduction initiatives for variation in cycle times.* Receives priorities for on-going on Fridays, and provides handoffs on Mondays.* Work closely with department Associate Directors and interfaces to fill in for Associate Directors as required.* Provides dotted line supervision to weekend supervisors and weekend teams.* Supports development, coaching and mentorship of teams to demonstrate Takeda leadership behaviors.* Owns and/or supports strategic projects and related ramp up activities.* Ensures adherence to all environmental, health and safety procedures and promotes a positive safety-first culture.* Accountable for delivering quality products to customers on time in a cost-efficient manner.* Is a good manager of self as well as production staff that may include manufacturing supervisors and technicians.* Partners with support groups to continuously improve safety, quality to meet department goals* Responsible for meeting production requirements including fulfillment and yield targets.* Assist department leadership with creation and meeting the annual operating plan and budget commitments.* Oversee daily manufacturing operations across a department or multiple departments.* Ensure staff training is appropriate to perform tasks with highest level of safety, quality and compliance.* Develop staff and one self through feedback and developmental processes.* Accountable for staff performance including resolution of disciplinary issues up to and including suspensions and terminations.* Responsible for driving continuous improvement and right first time execution.* Champion continuous improvement culture and lead implementation of tools, including leading Tier visual management meetings.* Responsible for representing department and providing leadership in meetings, audits and projects as required.* Drive employee engagement, development and hiring.Qualifications and Education:* Ability to manage multiple activities through subordinates and exercise full supervision in terms of cost, methods, and employees.* Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and information including financial reports* Ability to understand and resolve technical problems and interface with engineering/technical experts to resolve* Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting* Ability to perform investigations and communicate through well written documentation* Knowledge of world-class manufacturing methods (QLP, Lean, Six Sigma), Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Drug and Administration regulations.* Must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interface well with personnel at all levels* Must be able to work and facilitate a team-oriented environment.* May be required to supervisor various groups and/or shifts.* Typically requires bachelors’ degree, preferably in science, engineering or other related technical field.* 6+ years of related experience (Teardown/Fractionation is preferred), with 1+ years in a supervisor role.Requirements:* Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 lbs.* In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.* Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning.
