(AHP), is pleased to announce a career opportunity as the Managing Director of Data Collection Operations.

This is a versatile position with a strong focus on mixed methods design and data collection.

The position involves collaborating with internal and external teams in the design and implementation of data collection systems, processes, and procedures for behavioral health applied research and program evaluation projects, as well as developing the Research and Evaluation Center’s infrastructure, knowledge, capabilities, and capacity in this area.

This position will lead innovative, integrated approaches that produce relevant data on the effectiveness of programs, policies, and interventions.Responsibilities include: Provide scientific and management leadership for a portfolio of large, complex projects which design, implement, and manage interviews of clients, providers, and stakeholders across multiple behavioral health care settings.

Build, mentor, and lead cohesive, multidisciplinary, and client-focused teams, applying best practices in project management and data collection operations with an emphasis on quality and fiscal responsibility.

Lead training efforts to initiate new study Project Directors and Coordinators, including identifying appropriate tools for project management, up to date instrumentation, systems for data quality control, and effective approaches to working with community-based programs and their clients.

Manage web, mail, and phone survey development and computer-assisted data collection efforts involving agencies that are typically over-burdened and pose challenges to achieving high response rates.

Identify the right methods and adapt protocols to answer clients’ specific research and evaluation questions.

Collaborate with organization legal department and division leadership to develop infrastructure to support collection of external administrative data from state and/or federal sources.

Lead efforts related to recruitment, respondents’ experiences, and the research/evaluation goals of clients, in addition to advising organizations and government agencies on data collection.Requirements/Qualifications Education: Ph.D.

Professional experience: Over 10 years of experience in mental health and addiction health services research and/or evaluation.

Experience in participatory research and/or working directly with behavioral health program staff in the development and implementation of data collection and evaluation strategies.

Expertise in translating research and evaluation needs into operational plans with a focus on quality, responsiveness, and problem-solving to meet or exceed client objectives.

Experience with all aspects of the evaluation process from project leadership, study design, survey design, and literature review through data analysis, report writing, and dissemination.

A demonstrated commitment to maintaining close, effective partnerships with clients based on principles of collaboration, transparency, flexibility, and communication.

Experience designing and managing complex web, mail, telephone, and mixed-mode data collection efforts.

Expertise with a wide range of respondent populations, including law enforcement agencies, state agency directors, hospitals, physicians, and behavioral health service recipients.

Experience accessing and using external administrative data (e.g., state child welfare data, medical claims data).

Experience with public health and behavioral health state authorities and correctional institutions (diversion, probation, parole, and reentry) and inmate data collection is a plus.

Administrative skills: Proficient with MS Office and various databases and IT systems/tools available at AHP.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent planner, organizer, and problem solver.

Work environment: Interacting with multiple stakeholders internally.

Work is broad in scope covering one or more complicated areas.

A high degree of design and analytic ability and creative thinking is required to devise new, non-standard approaches to highly intricate, technically complex problems.
