Manager Purchasing

Manager Purchasing Reports to: Senior Manager Corporate Supply Chain Last Update: 1/11/2021 Overview : Manages employees engaged in purchasing and distributing parts, supplies and equipment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Leads or Supervisors.

Essential Duties : (Approximate % of Time Spent)
· Manages the Requisitioning and Purchasing functions across one or more Business Units to identify, transfer or procure, and receive required materials on time, within the overall material cost goals and established quality (30%)
· Champions service excellence, health, safety, environmental policies, standards and process improvement.

Manages workloads and schedules for all personnel, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for varying work levels.

Manages departmental costs and approves overtime as necessary.

(20%)
· Develops Plans to support business objectives including customer service, fill rate, on-time delivery, cost reduction, etc.

Forms partnerships/relationships with internal customers in Operations, Make Ready, and Accounts Payable in order to facilitate a high level of service, a reduction in costs, and an efficient process.

Works with internal and external customers to identify future plans and changes in business levels, and develop plans to meet future needs (15%)
· Ensures lowest total cost by compliance with preferred supplier agreements.

Works with other departments to communicate supplier performance issues and develop improvement plans(15%)
· Implements, manages and communicates performance measures and productivity standards for all Requisitioning and Purchasing tasks.

Reviews individual progress and development on a regular basis, ensures that employees are receiving appropriate training and recommends ways of increasing productivity and improving quality.

Administers employee feedback in accordance with Archrock Performance Management Program.

· Subject matter knowledge of Requisition & Purchasing processes and systems
· Knowledge of natural gas compressor and engine parts and suppliers.

General knowledge of how a natural gas compressor operates
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Minimum Education and Certification:
· Bachelor’s degree with a business or Supply Chain emphasis preferred Minimum Experience:
· Seven or more years’ experience in Supply Chain and/or the natural gas compression industry, with a proven track record of managing people, driving process improvements, and implementing cost savings
· Experience managing costs and budgets Leadership:
· Drives a culture of safety with the expectation of zero incidents
· Manages all resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation) for assigned area
· Coordinates schedule and sets priorities in order to ensure task completion
· Assesses training needs and ensures that team members are receiving proper training and that training programs are utilized and improves training gaps
· Ensures that employees are setup to be successful through the various programs such as feedback and recognition

· Coaches and counsels Leads to improve supervisory, team building and problem resolution skills, as appropriate
· Responsible for performance management and employee development
· Manages hire, fire, job and salary change actions per delegation of authority and required approvals
