Manager, Merchant Analytics

Job Description About the Team The Analytics team is looking for a manager to lead a team of data scientists focused on building the best possible products for our Merchants to manage and grow their businesses.

Merchants have high expectations of DoorDash to help them operate efficiently and profitably, and our ability to build products that unlock new opportunities for them is key to meeting those expectations.

About the Role You will directly influence our Merchant product and operational roadmaps, partnering closely with business leaders from Product, Operations, Design, Research, and Engineering.

Youre excited about this opportunity because you will Own analytics for our Merchant tools and products, overseeing the prioritization and methodologies for projects in this area Develop metrics and frameworks to inform the scope, prioritization, and resourcing of initiatives Collaborate as a thought partner for counterparts on Product, Operations, Machine Learning, and Engineering teams to influence our roadmap Produce recommendations and use statistical techniques and hypothesis testing to validate your findings Drive insights to help business and product leaders understand not only what drives value for our Merchants, but where that value comes from Partner with Business Intelligence to develop reporting and data tools to empower data-driven decision-making across the cross functional Merchant team Build strong working relationships with cross-functional leaders to identify and execute strategic initiatives Hire and manage one or more direct reports Were excited about you because you have 6 years of experience in analytics, economic or management consulting, or a related quantitative field 3 years in a lead role in an analytics function or people management experience Excellent communication skills, specifically driving projects in a leadership role and collaborating with senior and executive management Seasoned ability to manage timelines, delivery, requirements, and communication to internal partners in order to achieve lofty goals Intellectual curiosity; you look beyond averages, thrive on complexity, and strive to understand problems at a low level of detail Fluency in SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R Experience with experimentation (A/B testing, diff-in-diff experiments) Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g.
