Manager, Future of Work & Workplace Communications – Opportunity for Working Remotely


This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted May 7, 2022.

Working within our Global Employee Engagement team, you will be leading one of the most exciting communications functions within the Global Communications organization and partnering with our cutting-edge Future of Work team to help employees understand how our Future of Work initiative will impact their workdays as we exit the pandemic and embrace a distributed work environment. You will be asked to work across the breadth of the team to execute on priorities including: Within 30 days, get up to speed on our Future of Work initiative & create a strategic communications plan to disseminate key information & priorities to our global employee base. You’ll work closely with the leaders of the future of work program to understand our new, hybrid work practices & technologies, expectations and benefits for both remote & in-office workers, and the distributed work guidelines & policies that support the initiative. Within 90 days, you’ll be fully immersed in the team and will be executing on the plan while starting to build out communications assets for our 11 regional communities which are designed to foster increased local connections. Within 180 days, our teams should be back on our campuses and putting our best practices into play. Your role will be to begin uncovering stories and examples of how our teams have successfully transitioned to the hybrid model as we continue to optimize our skills. Within 360 days, you’ll be an important part of illustrating how VMware has become a leader in Future of Work practices and will review & measure your success against key metrics and employee adoption. Your daily activities will include: Serving as the communications lead driving and executing on our Future of Work plan Working with the future of work pillar leads to thread their initiatives into a cohesive narrative for inclusion in executive talk track kits that help leadership align and evangelize the program. Serve as a content advisor for our regional community events & social interactions Drive an on-going walking deck, key messages & assets that can be leveraged by executives visiting regional offices & communities. Interface with events team and global site leaders to build future of work into regional campus events & drive a distributed-first mindset within our community gatherings Bring to life new and innovative ways to show off our Future of Work progress with employee innovation stories, workplace contests or crowd-sourced initiatives that drive momentum toward the topic Providing executive communications support to Future of Work program lead for internal & external presentations. Develop communications objectives and key results and track and analyze progress each quarter Consult with our Workplace teams to ensure consistency of messages & focus throughout our communications for our large collaboration hubs Manage the Future of Work newsletter and intranet page The hiring manager for this role is Sarah Jones, Sr. Director of Employee Engagement & Internal Communications, who manages a team of employees focused on exciting, engaging an aligning our global employee base.
