Job Description We’re seeking a Manager, Epic Cache & DBA for a FTE opportunity located in southern CA. Position is remote until 6/2021, but must live locally. (Relocation required if you’re not local). Epic Cache experience is required. What will you be doing: The Epic Systems Architect and DBA Manager is responsible for design and long term planning for Epic’s systems environment focusing on high availability scalability, fault tolerance and excess. Have demonstrable experience on underlying servers (physical and virtual), server software (web servers, databases etc.), operating systems, storage and network technologies. This individual is also responsible for the planning and management of all technical and operational activities associated with the database administration function. Lead all aspects of the administration of relational database management system (Oracle/MS SQL), and object-oriented database management system (Cache) data, as well as data spaces in one or more computing environments (e.g., Unix, Linux, Windows). Leads a team of database specialists responsible for the technical functions associated with creating and maintaining databases; high availability; performance and tuning analysis; capacity planning, workload modeling, and prediction; systems support; application support and optimization; problem resolution tracking; and software upgrades. Ensures high-level support for a large and sophisticated RDBMS/ODBMS environment consisting of more than 350 database instances. Experience Requirements: – 8 years of demonstrated ability with information systems in a sophisticated multi-platform healthcare environment – 3 to 5 years of demonstrated ability in a supervisory/managerial role responsible for technical teams and successful execution of database-related projects with enterprise impact – 5 years of in-depth experience in the design, administration, programming, and support of RDBMSs/ODBMSs (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, Cache) in one or more computing environments (e.g., Unix, Windows, Linux) – Hands-on experience in a 24×7 support environment, including tuning, load balancing of databases and applications, clustering, backups/restores, and troubleshooting – Demonstrated expertise with design and implementation of test plans, leading the software development life cycle in a highly fluid environment, change management systems, and source code control systems. – Demonstrated expertise in communicating with end-users and leading or supervising user support teams on an enterprise level. – Demonstrated expertise with healthcare applications and understanding of the needs and priorities of patient care providers. – Demonstrated expertise in a wide variety of software development, client/server, relational database, systems integration, and networking technologies. – Familiar with a broad range of systems, API’s, protocols, and standards, including but not limited to: Oracle, SQL, ODBC, HL-7, Java, JavaScript, HTML, HTTP, TCP/IP, Windows NT, LINUX, and UNIX. – Experience working in a healthcare environment supporting Epic Applications required. – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated expertise in project management, systems analysis, customer relations, and vendor contract negotiation and management. – Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, provide strong team leadership, and work effectively as a team player. – Expert with mainstream office automation, project management, presentation, and communications tools. Educational Requirements: – Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject area. – Master’s degree is preferred.
