Position Summary:

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible to grow market share through prospecting and developing new accounts.

You will engage directly with potential customers through fostering business relationships by presenting business solutions and leveraging technology to help our customers.

You will be responsible for the onboarding, set up and transition to our Sales Account Consultants.

A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to lead business development, engage with customers, and use their insights and our tools to drive market share growth.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct min 20 weekly cold calls.
  • Manage up 1000 prospects via cycle calls.
  • Target 30% proposal and 7% close rate.
  • Deliver 75 accounts annual growth.
  • Identifying, researching, and evaluating opportunities to reach potential customers through CRM, BI APP and other prospecting tools.
  • Staying current with Core-Mark programs, products, technology, marketplace, and competitive products.
  • Understanding customer needs and discovering opportunities that best position our products and business solutions.
  • Guiding potential customers through the transitional process and customer onboarding.
  • Generating new customer relationships and sales revenue.
  • Developing deep and qualified sales pipeline.
  • Initiating proposals, negotiations, and presentations. 
  • Reporting Growth Metrics on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Collaborating in the creation of business development planning and forecasting sales targets.

Skills & Experiences:

  • 5 years of experience in sales with comprehensive technical knowledge.
  • Prior success with hunting and opening new business is preferred.
  • Experience in wholesale, retail convenience or grocery distribution preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
