MacPherson’s: Account Manager

The Position Account ManagerResponsibilitiesAccountable to achieve assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectivesDevelops sales and profitability forecasts and tracks account metricsEstablishes a trusted advisor relationship with all customersCoordinates the involvement of company personnel, including operations, category management, and other resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and exceed customer expectationsProactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs and builds plans to help customers achieve their desired stateProvides insight into category performance and opportunitiesIdentifies and analyzes market opportunities/issues and develops effective action plansSuccessfully sells-in new product offerings and/or company initiativesSkillfully leverages the sales promotions that are made available to address identified customer needs and goalsProactively brings forward unsolicited recommendations to improve business procedures and assist in the customer’s profitability and growthDemonstrates a positive professional attitude with company and account personnelConsistently collaborates with peers and brings value to the teamQualifications and Experience RequiredBS or BA or equivalent experienceA minimum of three years of sales experience, retail consumer goods experience preferredExperience & passion for art materials space or other creative industries is a plusKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated track record of exceeding sales goals and profitability objectivesClear understanding of account retention and penetration strategies and market development techniquesUnderstand the value of pre-call planning and deploying an overarching account strategySuperb listening, negotiation and presentation skillsUnderstands promotions, merchandising & other keys to success in a retail sales environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management, planning and prioritization skillsGood analytical skills with high attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint skillsLocationThe successful candidate will maintain a home office in the greater Los Angeles Area.
