Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role. The Case Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal injury or workers’ compensation cases from start to finish.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in personal injury or workers’ compensation law
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be familiar with Mac, and Microsoft Suite;
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
Requirements for Workers Compensation Case Manager:
- Process new files by verifying intake packet, obtaining all necessary data for processing the claim;
- Preparing and sending all opening letters and setting up initial medical appointments;
- Obtaining subpoena records, etc.:
- Filing the App of Adj, and all other hearing thru EAMS;
- Handle and manage approximately 150-300 cases from beginning until settlement;
- Answer heavy volume of telephone calls/emails;
- Medically manage the cases by scheduling medical appointments, requesting treating physician changes, requesting medical reports;
- Handle issues of denial of benefits;
- Prepare files for hearings, trials and depositions by writing case summaries, creating medical index, preparing trial exhibit, etc.;
- Complete IMR application and send medical reports to IMR;
- Object to medical reports and DORs;
- File for hearings, and or alert attorneys when case needs further attention;
- Conduct periodic review and evaluation of claim and maintain constant contact with client, carrier, doctor, and defense;
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management and/or Team Leaders.
Requirements for Personal Injury Case Manager:
- Case Intake and Evaluation: Conduct initial intake interviews with clients to gather information about their injuries and the circumstances of their accidents. Evaluate the merits of potential cases and determine their viability for representation.
- Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the duration of their cases. Provide regular updates on case progress, answer questions, and address concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Case Management: Develop and implement case management plans, including timelines for key milestones such as medical treatment, negotiations with insurance companies, and litigation if necessary. Coordinate with attorneys and other professionals involved in the case to ensure all deadlines are met and all necessary documentation is obtained.
- Medical Coordination: Facilitate communication between clients and medical providers to ensure that clients receive appropriate medical treatment for their injuries. Obtain and review medical records and bills to document the extent of clients’ injuries and the costs of their treatment.
- Negotiation and Settlement: Work with attorneys to negotiate settlements with insurance companies on behalf of clients. Review settlement offers and advise clients on their options. Prepare settlement documents and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Litigation Support: Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial, including organizing evidence, coordinating witness testimony, and drafting legal documents. Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed to support attorneys and clients.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all case-related activities, including client communications, medical records, billing statements, and settlement agreements.
