Leave of Absence (LOA) Manager – RCCB

Position Summary:
The Leave of Absence (LOA) Manager will work with the Reyes Family of Businesses’ business unit teams, Reyes Holdings’ Integrated Disability Management (IDM) team and local HR to help employees navigate through a leave of absence event, including workers compensation lost time, ADA and disability/FMLA.

The LOA Manager’s primary function is to help an employee understand the processes surrounding their work or non-work-related absence and to keep the employee oriented to return to work as a productive member of the organization.

The LOA Manager is responsible to adhere to and align with all the Reyes Holdings’ Integrated Disability Management Team (IDM) processes as a liaison from the business unit to the IDM organization.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Serves as a liaison between employee, local HR, Reyes’ IDM Workers’ Compensation Claim Managers and/or Reyes’ IDM Leave of Absence Case Managers to identify return to work opportunities for occupational or non-occupational injuries/illnesses.

Assist the employee in educating and understanding the Workers compensation process or leaves process and their responsibilities.

Serve a liaison for facilitating return to work via the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended Act (ADAAA) interactive process.

Support local HR to identify transitional duty and/or accommodations suitable for the employee’s work restrictions and limitations.

Support and maintain communication with Reyes’ IDM Workers’ Compensation (WC) Claim Managers with information obtained from the employee.

The IDM WC team works with vendor Sedgwick by overseeing claim administration and setting strategy for claim resolution.

Support and maintain communication with Reyes Leave of Absence Case Managers with information from employees Communicate to the appropriate IDM team member when return to work is successful or unsuccessful.

Maintain documentation of transitional duty and track timing and progress in transitional duty.

Track accommodations provided via the ADA process through software platform.

In the case of Workers’ Compensation, develop relationship with network of occupational health clinics to reinforce Reyes’ return to work program.

Provide regular training to field HR and supervisors on Reyes’ return to work program and processes.

Work with BU leadership and Senior Director of Reyes’ IDM program to identify local opportunities for improvement in return to work.

Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field from four-year college or university and 5+ years of experience as a case manager or High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of experience as a case manager.

Must have excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases.

High degree of self-motivation and discipline with a keen ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.

Client management experience with internal/external responsibility for developing and maintaining client relationships.

Great communication skills and ability to articulate care plans to employees, managers, and HR.

Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess needs, analyze feedback from care providers, IDM and assist in determining best plan.

Strong computer literacy to maintain and manage case records.

In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.

Energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.

Ability to travel up to 20%.

This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with an employer, insurance carrier or case management group.

Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Experience working in a unionized environment.
