LAZ Parking: Parking Supervisor

The Spirit of the Position:The Parking Supervisor provides supervisory, operational and administrative support through the dedicated planning and management of all parking meter enforcement activities while ensuring that all personnel adhere to all policies and procedures.Principal Job Duties:Oversight of staff during assigned shifts ensuring compliance with rules of conduct and policies and procedures.Responsible for providing direct supervision of the Enforcement Staff including performing on-street site visits to review the effectiveness of ticketing in problem areas while making recommendations to improve routing and performance.Responsible for ensuring the proper use of all Hand Held Ticket Issuance devices for the proper issuance of City approved parking meter tickets.Enhance parking compliance and maximize potential revenue at parking meters by assisting management in strategically planning, preparing and managing the deployment of parking enforcement personnel through the analysis of data to develop master routing schedules to provide dedicated enforcement of the City’s parking meter regulations.Ensure appropriate training in the proper issuance of City approved parking tickets for vehicles found in violation of parking meter regulations.Ensure that staff is in compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures as well as policies regarding professionalism, uniforms and grooming standards.Upload and download hand held ticket issuance computers each day to obtain current information required for that days’ work and to facilitate the processing of parking meter tickets that have been issued.Reviews daily field reports to monitor productivity levels and make recommendations to improve performance.Knowledgeable of operational objectives, policies and standard operating procedures.Respond effectively and immediately to requests or questions regarding inoperative or malfunctioning enforcement equipment, or operational procedures.Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reports as required.Complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the enforcement operations of the parking system.Responsible for the completion of safety and other training courses for the Enforcement staff.Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Education:High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.2+ years in Parking Enforcement, Traffic or Transportation ManagementParking industry experience is required.

Skills:Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.Must possess excellent customer service and a high level of interpersonal skills to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.Demonstrate the ability to seek improvement.Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills.Ability to produce and maintain an acceptable driving record and unrestricted drivers’ license.

Physical Demands:Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
