Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and oversee a wide variety of higher education, DSA, K12 educations projects from beginning to end in Los Angeles County.

Client Details

My clients, international Construction Management firm, provides project management, construction management, estimating, quality assurance, inspection, scheduling to construction clients. They have completed over 10,000 projects valued over $500 billion.

They are actively working on 50+ DSA projects in Los Angeles County.

Description

  • Oversee construction projects from beginning to end
  • Monitors and manages project close-out with respect to project certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and project financial close out
  • Reviews substitution submittals from contractors to ensure specification and/or District requirements are complied with
  • Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District
  • Coordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipment
  • Manage the budget and estimate costs
  • Prepare reports regarding job status
  • Resolve any problems that may arise
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
  • Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
  • Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites
  • Plan construction operations
  • Ensure all deadlines are met
  • Delegate responsibilities
  • Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects
  • Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards

Profile

  • 17 years of project/construction management experience
  • 5 years of experience in managing large construction projects (values $25M+)
  • 5 years of experience managing education or public works projects
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes
  • Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum)
