Summary:Leads the Deli Team with passion for the products Lassen’s provides.
Provides leadership for all aspects of the Deli, including Team Member development and accountability.
Accomplishes targeted labor, growth, and sales margins.Responsibilities:1.
Give customers immediate and undivided attention2.
Work with Store Manager to create and maintain a labor schedule to leverage productivity within the needs of the department.3.
Ensure food quality and proper presentation of all foods items and that recipes are followed accurately4.
Follow all food safety regulations including proper labeling, dating, storage and rotation5.
Achieve required sales, margin, expense and labor targets6.
Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects and ensure product mix meets varied customer dietary needs and requests7.
Ensure department orders for equipment, supplies and products are timely and accurate8.
Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated9.
Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage10.
Communicate company goals and information to Team Members11.
Keep store leadership informed of all events that affect the department12.
Schedule and lead department team meetings; attend store and regional meetings13.
Observe all deli policies, procedures, safety rules, cleanliness and sanitation, and Weights and Measures directivesQualifications:1.
Two years food-service management experience2.
CA Food Handler’s CardRequirements:1.
A passion and depth of knowledge of all things food, in particular specialty foods such as Organic, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Free Range, etc2.
Ability to instruct others in a constructive and positive manner; 3.
Excellent communications skills and willingness to work as a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers4.
Able to lead and motivate a diverse group of Team Members5.
Strong knowledge of Email, spreadsheets, and Word6.
Ability to think critically and problem solve7.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness8.
Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented with effective time management skills9.
Display proper handling and understanding of knife and other cutting equipment10.
Ability to properly handle high amounts of stress and large volumes of customers while maintaining a positive and friendly disposition11.
