The Opportunity: Food Truck Kitchen Manager / Eat My Junk Food Truck

Join a fun high energy team as our Kitchen manager, of the “Eat My Junk” food truck. Our goal is to create fun and interactive experience for guests at this “Family Guy” themed popup.

We’re looking for high energy Full Time Kitchen manager to lead our food truck team. Someone who has a guest-first mentally, great attitude, and is able to to move quickly and efficiently, is a must! 

This is a limited popup food truck, running from September through November! 

Our kitchen manager will be key in maintaining a high level of food quality and presentation, minimizing unnecessary food waste, and maintaining high levels of food safety and food preparation in alignment with the health department national standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and team member
  • Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner, and presently perfectly, with attention to detail
  • Maintain prep sheets, order guides, inventory, ordering for supplies, manage labor, set schedule, coordinate with line cooks
  • Eager to cook and prep during service, or take order/expedite, or both during every service
  • Coordinate with truck commissary kitchen (La Raza) and organize truck pickup and drop-off daily to and from commissary to the service location. *Truck will have one set location, on a private lot*
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines including maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards
  • Create a workflow for service each day, including kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  • Maintain excellent communication with Family Guy/Superfly Executive team, as needed, in additional to daily communication with cooks. 
  • Maintain excellent working order and maintenance of food truck
  • Maintaining fuel levels of truck, generator, clean water bins, disposing of gray water and garbage (at commissary). 

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen manager/sous chef or higher management position 
  • Experience working in a food truck
  • Must love to work clean and organized!
  • Must have night / weekend availability
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of shifts
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25lbs
  • Must be able to drive food truck
