Kitchen Manager

Little Ripper is now accepting applications for a Kitchen Manager. The Kitchen Manager will report directly to the two owners and be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing BOH staff, and maintaining quality control. Please note that Little Ripper is a compact space with a very limited amount of BOH space and cooking equipment, and our tight food menu has been carefully designed to be executed in consideration of these restrictions.

Kitchen Manager Responsibilities include:

-Staff schedule
-Quality control
-Supervise staff and work the line regularly during service hours
-Oversee maintenance, cleaning, and organization of all BOH equipment and storage areas
-Help hire and on-board new BOH staff
-Oversee inventory, ordering, and prep schedule
-Seasonal menu updates and specials
-Communicate with FOH staff about menu offerings and changes

The ideal candidate offers:

-Strong skills and a passion for working with seafood, including raw preparations
-Experience with inventory, recipe costing, and ordering protocols. We use software for this purpose and will provide basic training for its usage.
-Experience managing a small team
-Experience interviewing and training staff
-Proficiency working on and overseeing expo, sautee station, meat slicer, ovens, and food processor
– Note that we do not have a grill or fryer 🙂

This position offers a competitive salary, DOE, paid vacation after 6 months, and plenty of potential for growth.
