Key Account Sales Manager- Commercial Coffee Service

Our Sales team currently has an opening for an experienced Key Account Manager to handle coffee service contracts in the local and Southwest regions, with growth potential in Arizona and Northern California. The right person will be able to establish, develop, and manage a portfolio of large, long-term key sales accounts in the ‘self-operated’ foodservice channel (Sodexo, Aramark, Compass, independent food service providers, etc.) while maximizing robust sales opportunities through effective networking, lead generation, and client support. Essential Functions:

  • Utilize comprehensive industry knowledge to sell a full line portfolio of coffee products, equipment, and allied coffee services.
  • Meet sales revenue and profit goals.
  • Effectively open and close sales cycles through qualifying, presenting, proposing, closing and managing key accounts.
  • Coordinate efficient and compliant full-cycle contract management.
  • Aggressively pursue and fully develop and manage new accounts for clients in the premium ‘self-operated’ foodservice channel, including self-operated healthcare, business and industry (B&I), hospitality, higher education area target customers.
  • Knowledgeably resolve issues and provide technical support and solutions for all assigned customers.
  • Develop annual strategic business plan for fiscal year, focused on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
  • Compile sales results reports, including monthly sales meeting updates and annual sales analysis.
  • Efficiently manage key projects and initiatives while meeting deadlines.
  • Conduct and attend meetings, presentations, and demonstrations both in person or virtually as required.
  • Stay atop industry competition by gathering up-to-date marketplace information, including pricing, products, new products, merchandising techniques, market trends, etc.
  • Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, networking, and cold calling on business owners throughout the Southern California and South West areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities, including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and all follow up activities.
  • Use Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate records.
  • Work closely with marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns.

Job Specifications/Competencies:

  • Dynamic consultative selling skills.
  • Leading, organizing and facilitating product demonstrations as part of the sales cycle.
  • Professional command of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Competency in using and managing virtual meeting platforms
  • Ability to support and work collaboratively with cross functional teams (sales, marketing and customer service) to deliver business objectives.
  • High degree of personal integrity, professionalism and quality interpersonal skillset.
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Capacity to develop and build strong relationship with key decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Aptitude to think critically and solve problems methodically.
  • Able to manage time and projects effectively.
  • Position requires 40-75% road travel-must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • College-level Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales with proven results.
  • Foodservice industry sales experience required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in coffee with a high level of coffee and espresso equipment knowledge.
  • Experience and competence with CRM/customer relationship software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel if needed.
