You’ll be an integral team member who will implement and manage new systems and tools as well as assist with review and management of the team and outside service providers. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? You will be working with colleagues to identify, implement and manage tools needed to support and compute US International Tax calculations for quarterly close and tax return compliance purposes. You will be assisting with preparation of calculations and first level reviews of computations prepared by internal team members and outside service providers. With your strong analytical skills, you will spot issues and propose solutions as issues arise. You will be effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing projects. You will be demonstrating strong motivation and initiative with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong teamwork mentality. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? As is typical in many corporate tax departments, the quarterly provision is a key focus. The key components owned by the US International tax team are GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, Foreign Tax Credit, 861 allocations, Sec. 986(c), Sec. 987 and APB23 calculations. Another key focus area we own is the US International income tax return compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, 926, 8621 and related disclosure statements and elections. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The Tax Department is a relatively large team of approximately 50 professionals located worldwide in Palo Alto, California, Broomfield, Colorado, and Cork Ireland. The Tax Team is a highly experienced team of all levels and is always available to support you in your day-to-day role. The International Tax Manager will be a member of our Tax Team and will report to the Senior International Tax Manager, International Tax. You will interact with members of the Tax Team as well as other teams at VMware, such as Finance, Treasury, Accounting, and Legal. You are more than just a job title.
