JOB SUMMARY:
This individual will be responsible for warehousing and distribution functions. The Director of Operations will ensure the integrity of Logistics, Inventory Control, Print Label Production, and Event Setup processes while driving continuous improvement to daily workflows and adapting to the changing needs of the company. This position will include regular interaction with all levels of Sales, Manufacturing, Product, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time shipments and visibility from raw components to finished goods.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and Improve Operations
· Deliver products and services to key internal and external stakeholders in a timely and documented manner
· Maintain regular contact with key company stakeholders to properly identify and forecast business needs
· Manage resource allocation across sub-departments (Logistics, Inventory Control, Print, Event Setup)
· Maintain process integrity and best practices throughout the warehousing and distribution operations
· Ensure the fulfillment of departmental objectives and sub-departmental objectives by establishing and monitoring regular KPI reporting
· Calibrate pricing and revenue models for JSource products and services to meet divisional revenue and profit targets
· Develop processes and drive initiatives to meet everchanging business needs
· Diagnose functional gaps and shortcomings within sub-departments and implement sustainable solutions
· Drive performance improvement through the use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement Tools
· Address the root causes of issues, create corrective action plans, and implement long term solutions
· Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required with internal and cross-functional teams
· Deploy Lean methods to simplify processes, eliminate waste/non-value adding activities and improve workflow: evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, procedures, and daily workflow
· Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions and process documentation
· Challenge the team to be Customer Centric, including developing strategies to enhance our customer service and our growth, focusing on deliveries that are on-time, in-full and defect-free to influence positive customer feedback results, responsiveness to internal and external customers
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
– Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Strategic Procurement, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
– Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
– Adaptable / Flexible – being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
– Knowledge of 6 Sigma, Lean (Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping) and Vendor Managed Inventory a plus
– Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
– Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
– Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization – English
– 7+ years of relevant work experience in business, warehouse, or distribution management
