Vice President LTL-Global Executive Solutions Group
Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of a national transportation provider.
The Vice President LTL is responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive growth plan of non-asset brokerage business from LTL and expedited providers that focus on local and same-day delivery. Will work in coordination with other company business units, develop the strategic and tactical direction for the unit, establish management processes and metrics for performance, and be accountable for financial and growth performance of the transportation logistics business. Recruits, trains, and mentors’ sales team. Will supervise process improvement internally and in the company’s arrangements with its customers, carriers, and channel marketing partners. Will complete necessary planning activities for both short term and long-term goals of the business including budgetary planning, analysis, and review. Challenge is to build a world-class team, develop high-level service offering, motivate, and lead staff while optimizing costs, increasing revenues, and maximizing profitability.
Background Required:
- Progressive responsibility in Asset or Non-Asset Freight Brokerage environment (8+ years)
- LTL, expedited; local, same-day delivery
- Sales management (Interview, Hire, Train, Coach, Mentor)
- Developed and execute business plan strategies
- P & L
- Driven technology and process improvement (i.e., Brokerage TMS Suite or equal)
- Developed & managed KPI’s (i.e., on-time performance, margin, data integrity, lane balances)
- Travel: 25-50%
- Computer literate: Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Residence: Los Angeles, CA (remote home office environment)
Background Preferred (but not required):
- Multi-location management
- Transportation software: i.e., MercuryGate, Mcleod, TMW, Trinium
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (i.e., Logistics, Transportation, Business)
