The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Advanced Comm & RF Subsystem Engineering Manager to join the team in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.
Primary Engineering responsibilities include the following for both commercial and government programs: Architecture trades, performance analysis, requirements flowdown, functional decomposition, and integration and test of complex real time DSP and Digital Comm solutions that will be implemented in FPGAs/ASICs for satellite spaced based applications. This person will be working with other Systems Engineering and HW organizations to optimize processes across organizations to reduce cycle time and improve first pass quality.
Position Responsibilities Include:

Development and maintenance of the Advanced Comm & RF SSE cost model.

Development of cost bids for proposals.

Fielding teams of Advanced Comm & RF SSEs across the site.

Program execution to schedule, cost and technical requirements.

Development and maintenance of the technical processes and tools.

Development of a robust pipeline of Advanced Comm & RF SSEs with experience ranging from new hires to people with greater than 30 years of experience.

Supporting critical program staffing and redeployment activities, and identification of Advanced Comm & RF SSE strategic skills.

Development and execution of a robust training and development plan.

Development of employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce.

Serve as a technical leader and/or IPT lead on commercial and government Spacecraft Systems.

Serve as domain expertise and process owner on various Advanced Comm & RF SSE related technical areas.

Collaborate with cross functional Systems Engineering and HW departments to drive process improvements.

Support new business development activities.

Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.

Performs employee performance management, hiring, retention, raise, awards/recognition, and goal setting.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering or technical field

5+ years of experience working with digital communications
-
5+ years of experience working on satellite or space-based communication systems
-
3+ years of experience in conducting requirement and functional analyses to derive and flow down digital and RF communication requirements

2+ years of experience in engineering leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in electrical engineering

El Segundo summary pay range: $147,050 – $198,950
