Huntsman’s Advanced Materials Division is now searching for a new HR Manager who will provide HR leadership and support for all HR functions at our site located in Los Angeles, California.
As the HR Manager, you will:
As a Site Leadership Team member, design and effectively execute policies, procedures, and decisions regarding the effective management of the LA Manufacturing Site.
Responsible for the selection, background check, and staffing process, including Affirmative Actions goals.
Actively participate and add value on teams focused on Corporate initiatives and other projects.
Conduct assessments to ensure compliance with law and maintain record keeping supporting legal and regulatory agency compliance. Responsible for Health Services, Worker’s Compensation, Short
– and Long-Term Disability programs including FMLA, and employee Training and Development.
Lead employee relations activities and motivate associates at all levels to achieve desired results
– i.e.
High-Performance Organization.
Control expenses to maintain HR cost centers within budget.
Stay abreast on the ever-changing, challenging California employment and labor law.
Ensure confidentiality and privacy standards are met with both business and personnel matters.
Design & effectively execute developmental programs for all levels of associates at the McIntosh Site.
This includes providing support and guidance to Staff with succession planning and Talent Bank development.
Serve as an internal Executive Coach to Site Manager and other LA Managers that aids in their leadership development and ensures strong Site employee relationships align with Huntsman Business Code of Conduct. Lead compensation management process including HUN Grade assessments, cross leveling, career ladder promotion process, and ensure internal equity.
Conduct investigations, report findings, and follow up with needed actions as appropriate.
Maintain a professional business relationship with management, customers, employees, and community leaders as required.
Skills and experiences required:
Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or related degree with 10+ years’ experience in chemical and/or manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of HR compliance with Federal and California employment and labor laws, as well as payroll and benefit administration required.
Expertise with computer software including automated HRIS, payroll, and databases required.
Basic working knowledge of Quality systems, Auditing, EHS, and OSHA requirements needed.
A minimum of 10 years HR experience with Staffing, Performance Management, Talent Development, and Disciplinary Action oversight required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Manager serving previously as member of a leadership team. Requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills.
The ability to filter and immediately respond to questions during site group meetings is necessary to be successful in this position.
Proven past track record of strong HR leadership and Executive Coaching skills, as well as a Change Agent.
SHRM Certification or advanced degree a plus.
Low to moderate amount of business travel between locations.
