The Workday Advanced Compensation Consultant role partners with clients to offer thought leadership on system functionality, functional use and may lead implementations of the functional services.

Responsible for ensuring timely and quality execution of client deliverables for ongoing services as well as projects leveraging Alight’s Workday Point of View.

The Functional Consultant should have extensive knowledge of Advanced Compensation within Workday, both in process and technical knowledge.

They should have a good understanding of the overall service delivery model while also having some knowledge of project management and the system life cycle.

Job Responsibilities Workday Advanced Compensation Ongoing Services Provides input to planning of work activities related to the Advanced Compensation domain within the overall project life cycle.

Manages execution of project plan and deliverables for the Advanced Compensation domain.

Provides input to requirements calendar.

Accountable for the completion of Process Requirements Documents (PRD’s).

Plans, schedules, and leads preparation for process requirements sessions.

Lead facilitator for PRD discussions with assistance from Workday implementation partner and team Compensation Analysts.

Accountable for the development/completion of Internal Acceptance Testing (IAT) test scenarios Accountable for the development / completion of SOP’s / Process Flows, including integrated process flows cross domain as needed.

Responsible for tracking Change Requests (CRs) as they pertain to the project life cycle.

Lead requirements discussions and participate in the requirements process for functional implementation of projects.

Facilitate research and knowledge sharing on Workday releases and share upcoming changes with clients as applicable.

Participates in status update meetings internally and with client (as applicable).

Primary escalation point between Operations and IT/PMO on risks/issues/solution needs.

Coordinates team members, drives action items to resolution, ensures updates to occur, participates in issue/solution log discussions.

Prepares for and participates in Workday training.

Ensures ongoing delivery colleagues have been on-boarded and operations infrastructure is established.

Plans, coordinates, and supports the integration of Global colleagues into the overall implementation project (as applicable).

Consult/collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and ensure adoption of service delivery model.

Escalates, assess, and/or mitigates (when required) risk/opportunities, including contract compliance, performance/delivery, adherence to Best Practices, standardized procedures & documentation, budget deviations.

Leadership Development Continues to specialize and deepen skill set within Advanced Compensation.

Provides direction and guidance internally to less experienced colleagues by directing and reviewing their deliverables.

Has targeted conversations with client in area(s) of focus and provides consultative advice and recommendations, applying Alight Point of View and best practice learnings.

Leads discussions with clients on basic scope and solutions to influence client decisions and project deliverables and service delivery.

Participates in or may project manage internal initiatives that impact the domain or our consulting methodology, such as identifying and incorporating process improvements to our consulting methodology, documenting best practices, building and refining functional/technical collateral, etc.

Client Relationship Management A point of escalation for ongoing services as well as any implementations and projects for service delivery for clients in the Advanced Compensation domain.

Attend governance meetings and schedule periodic check-ins with client contacts to discuss issues or concerns.

Support the Domain Process Lead and Client Service Manager in consultative best practice conversations with clients.

Understands impacts of legislative, regulatory and compliance changes and works internally and with aligned clients to implement updates in accordance with client requirements.

Business Planning and Operations Management Actively participate in SOC Audits, Business Continuity Planning and recovery efforts, change management and other process improvements.

Adhere to Point of View (PoV) and best practices.

Assist in coordinating the workload across aligned operations ensuring business as usual and projects are delivered to required deadlines with quality.

Responsible for project quality control, risks and escalations and governance for aligned projects and implementations.

Assist sales team in functional area of expertise as needed.

Financial Management Assist with Change Request estimates.

Ensure projects and Change Requests are on budget and not exceeding deal model estimates.

Knowledge and Expertise Deep Advanced Compensation functional and operational knowledge required; HR Outsourcing knowledge is a bonus.

Applies professional principles and business judgement to solve unique problems or to develop new procedures, and process.

Ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and projects with urgency and setting priorities.

Ability to understand and analyze the impact of changing priorities and balance resources appropriately Ability to consult with clients/client teams on the Workday Advanced Compensation offering thought leadership, best practices and configuration options.

Proven ability in partnering with business leadership in the creation and achievement of communication strategies and the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management and influence multiple stakeholder groups Advanced knowledge and understanding of best practices and service delivery models.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proven ability to work effectively with business sponsors to gain necessary resources and support in a highly matrixed organizational structure Ability to learn new software functionality quickly.

Familiar with Project Management processes.

Experience in leveraging a Systems Development Life Cycle framework to project work Qualifications A minimum of three years’ experience in Workday Advanced Compensation.

5 years professional experience in consulting or operational environment Client consulting and coaching experience using highly developed interpersonal, influence, and relationship skills.

Bachelor’s degree.

Professional certification as appropriate is desired, but not required.

At least 2 years of client consulting experience required.

Ability to travel up to 25% if required.
