POSITION OVERVIEW The Process Science group at Partner Therapeutics’ Northpointe manufacturing site is a group of People Leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SME) that manage teams and specializes in the characterization, troubleshooting, and development of scalable processes for manufacturing and analytical methods for Quality Control.
The Process Science function is comprised of Fermentation Development, Downstream Development, and Analytical Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Point of Contact for all Process Science related interests at PTx.
Provides supervisorial support for heads of the 3 Process Science disciplines (Fermentation, Purification, Analytics).
Establishing personal and business expectations based on individual interest, development needs, and department and company objectives, and ensuring accountability against these expectations.
Represents Process Science at the site operational meeting (Apollo), Northpointe Site Leadership Team, PTx Management Team and other PD spokesperson roles.
As a member of the Site Leadership Team and PTx Management Team, contributions in areas outside of Process Science is an expectation (e.g.
Site Policies/Initiatives, PTx Initiatives, etc.) Establish long-term plans through the development of Life Cycle Management Plans for each discipline (Fermentation, Purification, Analytics) to track replacement/acquisition of equipment, competency development of staff, and continuous improvement projects in alignment with customer, industry, and broader PTx objectives.
Establishes and maintains culture of continuous learning through needs assessments of customers/stakeholders, external landscape (e.g.
Vendors, Literature, Seminars, Consultants, etc.) and team.
Prepares capital and operating budgets and manages performance against these budgets.
Provides facilitation and leadership in the establishment, prioritization, execution, and management of departmental goals.
Establishes constructive relationships with key customers/stakeholders through effective and timely communication.
Acts as scientific resource and contributes to the resolution of complex problems across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS BS, MS, PhD or other applicable degree in a Biological Science, Engineering, Chemistry or other scientific field required.
Minimum of 15 years’ progressively responsible experience in the cGMP Bio/pharmaceutical industry.
Minimum 10 years People Leader experience managing a team with a variety of scientific backgrounds and disciplines.
Experience developing and documenting manufacturing processes for the Bio/pharmaceutical industry.
General knowledge and familiarity of all 3 disciplines within Process Science: Fermentation, Purification, and Analytics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence and build relationships across the broadest constituencies both internal and external to the site.
Proven ability to set ambitious and realistic targets, drive execution and build culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
