The Director of Education (“Head of Education”) role will leverage brand vision, industry knowledge, and consumer insights to help lead the development and execution of the education strategy with a focus on storytelling/ messaging, developing product innovation & science content, and partnering with experts.
This role will serve as the knowledgeable, inspirational voice and key educational brand representative in and outside the organization.
Reporting directly to the VP Marketing, this role must be flexible managing developing initiatives, timelines, and quick turnarounds and will collaborate with cross functional teams (Product Development, Marketing, Creative, Digital/ Ecommerce).
This position requires strong facilitation and project management skills, expertise in curriculum development and communication and a desire to research and learn new concepts.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hair and overall beauty and have an authentic connection with the Vegamour brand positioning.
Candidate requires exceptional communication and presentation skills and is a highly creative strategic thinker and excellent team player & collaborator with the ability to motivate and inspire cross functional teams.
ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the education strategy in partnership with the VP Marketing/ CEO & Founder and implement priorities Design education platforms and training programs & materials and develop curriculum for marketing strategic initiatives, wholesale trainings and brand onboarding Create, in partnership with Creative & Digital Content teams, branded content across all channels (ecommerce/ digital, advertising, wholesale) ensuring brand message consistency and product information accuracy & clarity Spearhead and manage expert partnership strategy and execution Track and analyze product launches, and overall product portfolio performance (ratings & reviews, social media questions), ensuring key insights and learnings are identified for education strategy evolution Manage the education go-to-market product innovation planning process by creating product fact sheets, ingredient and technology science, and trainings Conduct ongoing competitor and industry analysis highlighting white spaces opportunities and strategies to enhance existing portfolio and campaigns in partnership with Brand Marketing & Product Development Appear on social media regularly: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook Partner with the influencer team and help lead product knowledge and trainings for all social broadcasts (FB Live), selling initiatives and branded content creation Lead educational aspects of photoshoots and video shoots in partnership with Marketing and Creative Identify and monitor education KPIs and develop best practices
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
8+ years of experience within brand/ product education or marketing in beauty, hair preferred Barber or cosmetology license a plus Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred Passion for brand development and storytelling, specifically in clean/wellness sector Must be an excellent communicator, natural leader, team player Proven success leading cross-functional team, and processes Adaptable, resourceful, and forward-thinking Experience working at innovative, fast-paced startups or indie/digital brands is a plus Exceptional presentation skills Strong technical/ computer skills in Microsoft Office and on social media platforms are critical for success Effectively translates complex ideas into simple pitches based on audience perspective and needs Creative & self-starting individual; must be agile and able to multi-task, manage complexity and problem solve on the fly and can personally organize and set priorities Ability to take ownership of projects and drive others to meet deadlines Demonstrates a strong work ethic, high integrity, and commitment to excellence
