Global Planning Manager – Molecular Labs

The PositionJob Summary:Responsible for managing the global supply planning team for Roche Molecular Labs.

Executes short and long-term global planning strategies and processes to maximize customer needs while optimizing inventories and minimizing costs.

Areas of responsibility includes global demand and supply planning, finished goods inventory management and life cycle management.

Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction objectives at the lowest possible total costs, including distribution costs, inventory and write-offs.Monitor key performance indicators, analyze performance data and ensure the execution and continuous improvement of supply chain processes.Provide oversight to employees on achieving individual, departmental and organizational performance goals.

Work with the director, senior management and global stakeholders to ensure initiatives and sustaining processes are aligned with the business objectives of the organization.Provides tactical decision making and strong leadership including the efficient and effective use of resources.

Delegates responsibilities to subordinate staff.

Sets expectations and develops plans for the department.

Has full HR responsibility for direct reports and full budget responsibility for assigned functional area or departments.What You Do:Directs the development, management, and continuous improvement of processes, systems, capacities and procedures within the Global Planning and Supply functional area.Develops, implements, and manages the activities, programs and /or strategies within the Global Planning and Supply area to meet the company and customer needs and objectives.Build and maintain strong partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders and lead discussion, problem solving efforts and process improvements to ensure supply goals are met or exceeded.

Stakeholders include: Manufacturing, Marketing, Logistics, Quality, Regional Leads, Affiliates, and Finance.Manages staff to ensure they are properly trained, coached, and developed to meet job accountabilities and company and customer expectations.

Optimize global inventory levels to meet customer service, business continuity, and cost objectives throughout the global distribution network Develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.Drives solutions with global affiliate customers, internal production sites and third party suppliers to resolve operational process, lead time, and delivery and quality issues to ensure product availability.Manages resolution of critical bottlenecks of finished goods in coordination with functional areas throughout the process.Perform other work-related duties as assignedWho You Are:Bachelor’s Degree4 years related experience.3 years supervisory experience.Excellent problem solving, analytical, data processing, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, leadership, and communication skills (oral and written).Strong knowledge and understanding of demand and supply planning, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution and order management and procurement.Demonstrated ability to manage decisions in a logical, rational mannerDemonstrated proficiency in using ERP, Advanced planning, and structured collaborative systemsExtensive experience with Demand Planning (APO DP), Production Planning (APO PP)/Data Services (DS), and SAP R/3Experience building relationships with key internal and external customers based on trust and confidence.Ability to translate business goals and metrics into business process outcomes and related business cases for specific projects.Preferred:Prior experience in a global Demand and Supply Planning TeamExtensive experience with Demand Planning (APO DP), Production Planning (APO PP)/Data Services (DS), and SAP R/3Global supply chain experience.Experience working in a regulated environmentDiagnostics, Pharma or Life Science supply chain experienceAPICS or CPM certification preferredSome travel will be requiredWho we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
