Global Marketing Director, Portfolio Strategy (US Remote)

In this vital role you will be responsible for delivering against key strategic marketing initiatives to support Amgens overall oncology portfolio optimization and ensure Amgen is best positioned to meet the long-term ambitions for Amgens Oncology business. In this role, you will report to, and assist the Global Marketing Executive Director, Portfolio Strategy Lead, to prepare for various governance presentations, deliver critical insights and liaise with cross-functional colleagues, vendors, and multiple PTs team members.
This position is complex and will require a global marketer to impart excellent strategic thinking, strong analytical skills and scientific literacy, superior cross-functional collaboration skills, and will operate both globally and locally, using effective influencing skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Support continued evolution of Amgen Oncology TA strategy to clearly articulate short, mid, long-term objectives, priorities, and investment areas

Partner with Global Value and Access stakeholders to identify impact of policy changes on portfolio and overall Therapeutic Area strategy

Develop landscape views, assess impact of key events, and provide real-time updates, while identifying implications to Amgens oncology portfolio of shifting landscape (coordinates a view from informed but disparate information sources such as CI, analyst views, market changes); communicate to leadership (and TAG if needed) and inform portfolio learnings back into the individual asset programs

Closely monitor Amgen peer-set Oncology commercialization strategies

Support portfolio optimization and diversification efforts, including for ad-hoc commercial evaluations of external opportunities and other BD assessments

Ensure timeliness and quality of key commercial inputs into portfolio assessments

Forge strong relationships and cross-functional collaboration at both global and local levels

Represent portfolio commercial interests on Research Project Teams

Communicate regional interests to create consolidated and integrated global strategy

Support effective progression of programs from one stage to another using disease state research, development of Patient Flows, SOC evolution, Competitive landscape and scenarios, TPPs (product profiles), forecasts, and generation of strategic options to maximize program value and return

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing experience
Or
Masters degree and 6 years of marketing experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 8 years of marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA and/or advanced scientific degree (PhD, MS, MD, PharmD)
-
Oncology experience (solid tumor experience is preferred, but heme / liquid tumor experience is also useful). Immuno-oncology experience is a plus.

6+ years of experience and a track record of success in a series of commercial roles of increasing scope, scale, and complexity, with leading companies in the biopharmaceutical industry or top tier consultancies with Life Sciences practices.

Experience developing and implementing innovative global marketing and commercial strategies for pipeline products, successfully launching therapeutic products and repositioning products to maximize commercial value.

Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and the cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues around the world.

Experience in a tactical, line marketing role, implementing marketing strategies in local markets, is a plus.

Strong appreciation of industry trends, technical and competitive dynamics that are expected to share future oncology marketplace

Understanding of global market access, pricing, and reimbursement issues.

Experience working in cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment, managing global projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities.
